Still ranking as the most beautiful place on Earth these eyes have ever absorbed, The Canadian Rockies are Mother Nature’s true masterpiece. This is Peyto Lake, in Alberta, which can be accessed along the uber-scenic Icefields Parkway. To me, it looks like a blue fox. “Is the water really that color?” is the most common question I get regarding this image. “Yes, it absolutely is!” The unique colors of the lakes in this area are the result of “rock flour”. These are tiny particles of silt-sized rock that are embedded into the lake via glacial melt, as this lake is fed by a nearby glacier. The rock flour particles reflect a brilliant hue of turquoise rarely seen with the common eye in the natural world. At Peyto Lake, the “blue fox” sure does sport a dazzling mint coat! #TravelTuesday
